The (im)proper way to do DMC 4 secret mission 11

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

Not only is this secret mission almost impossible to be found, but you’re also supposed to aim the Pandora Laser on two distant object on opposite end of the stage in under 30 seconds!

Now, if you’re like me, then there’s no way you can aim that laser in the precise straight line that’s needed to blow the horse statue.

But, apparently the developer of the games didn’t expect that people are going to use other weapon to blow those objects to bits…

So, here’s my way of doing things :)

Rock Band with Real Instrument

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

With my Xbox dead, I really have nothing to do now. However, I’m working to make Rock Band playable with real musical instrument. This guy already do the Guitar Hero / Drum Machine combo, but I think his setup is too complicated. And in any case, my main instrument is keyboard, so I need to do it slightly different. I’ll keep you posted once I have my xbox back, which should be anytime now… :)

Eternal Sonata 2nd Play Thru Trick

Tuesday, February 5th, 2008

If you look at my gamertag, you’ll notice that lately I’ve been playing Eternal Sonata. This RPG game require two play in order to get the full achievements. On the second playthrough, the enemy will have 2x the health, and 1.5x the attack and defense. But they will still drop the same XP :(

I found this nice trick for handling any tough boss on the 2nd play. Select party level 6, and then find a random enemy just prior to the big fight. Fight this lesser enemy such that after the fight you’ll have a full 32 harmony chain. I.e., use only regular attack, or use combo that will give you lots of harmony chains. Since partly level 6 allows you to carry your harmony chain to the next fight, when you face the boss, you’ll have the full 32-harmony chain. This pretty much guarantee an instant kill for most of the boss’ sidekick.

For example, I use this trick on Xylophone Tower’s boss (Ogre King & Wicked Shrub) — which is pretty much the last boss you’ll have to fight on the 2nd play to get full achievement — and the fight is finished in about 4-5 turns. My character is around level 60-ish, but I have Allegretto’s ultimate weapon (Silver Star), which helps a lot.
